Midnight Runner is an example of a short film from my coursework while attending university. I was inspired to write this story because I used to do a lot of running late at night, and at the time, there was the national fear of people dressed up as clowns roaming around scaring people. I took this as an opportunity to conceptualize a passion of mine, with an element of relevant fear. My favorite part of the process while working on this video, and final results I am most pleased with this process, was the color correcting I managed to achieve in a short time frame. Without the green cast I added, the film did not communicate the same uneasy affective response I was going for. Because this was a silent film, the writing process was interesting because there was a clear story written, but no spoken dialogue between characters. My group that worked with me on this project was a great help in the filming process, as I acted as the main character. This video was selected to be featured on a digital showreel developed by the College of Media & Communications at Texas Tech University.
